Mr. Fishburn donated the home to the city in 1955
with the stipulation that it be used for recreational purposes. Today, visitors can enjoy the many

of the home’s interior to marvel at its original features a grand staircase, exquisite crown molding and mantels, French parlor doors, well-appointed rooms for dining and entertaining
….and take a step back in time to Roanoke’s gilded age.
